Task force to track sex offenders (The Monterey County Herald)
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Monday appointed a task force to recommend changes in how the state places and monitors high-risk sex offenders.

City leaders are talking about revising an ordinance that would make it even tougher for sex offenders to live on the island. Under the current state law, sex offenders are not allowed within 1000 feet of any school. Now the city wants to change the distance to 2500 feet.
