ALBANY, N.Y. Governor Pataki and lawmakers say they could reach agreement this week on a bill to keep sex offenders locked up in psychiatric facilities after their prison sentences end.

Registered sex offender Clarence Elmer Green lives in one room at a Lexington motel. He said the weekly rates are too high, noise from the heating vent keeps him awake at night, and there's not enough room for many of his belongings stuffed in bags near the bed.
